Back in It
Today’s run felt great. It felt practically epic. Groundbreaking. Momentous. I felt like it was the first run for the rest of my life. I refuse to skip workouts from here on out. I thought last week was a bust in terms of working out, but I was oh so wrong. I still managed to burn 2763 calories. My problem? I ate out Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday nights. Kinda defeats the...

Since the New Year hit, my workout life has taken a hit. We’re in the 4th week of the month and I’ve managed to get in 1 long run. Granted, the week of January 8-14 I was sick, that still leaves me with two missed long runs. Well, f#⃣#⃣k that I say. It’s time to get real about getting real. The timeline of my shit working out correlates with my lack of reporting on my workout...

iPhone Apps: GAIN Fitness
I love this app. I’ll start about by saying that.  I think we all want something to tailor our workouts, to tell us what to do. At least I do. I don’t want to do the research on what my workouts should be. And why? Because I’m lazy. I tend to expend all of my initiative actually working out. That’s where GAIN comes into the mix. This iPhone app review is for one of those...

Hinukshines: Tumblr observations for this week: →
hinukshines: You are not a doctor. Do not go handing out bullshit information to people who may think you actually know what you are talking about. Weigh-In 6
So my weight went up. Boo freaking hoo. A much more important development is occurring. Body fat. Body fat is happening. And it’s negatively happening. But it’s a positive for me. Before I started my little endeavor, I had trouble with keeping my body fat % (or at least the number our scale claims) down. Between 17-19% was normal. Today? 15.6% Now, I know this isn’t accurate, but...

Dear fitblr Girls, Stop posting pictures of other girls who are skinny/thin. I follow you to see your progress. I know it’s motivation for you, but you’re a wonderful enough person that what other girls look like shouldn’t even matter.

Runners beware!  →
veenilla: http://pfiesterpfit.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/runners-beware-4-things-you-need-to-know/ When I think of runners I think of fit people. I picture thin peeps jogging it out every day, lookin’ and feeling good – but that is not always the case. Many runners may be doing their body (and physique)… I am the proof of number 1.

Work-Out Plan: Week 5
Missed doing this the last two weeks. What’s funny is my working out did not suffer. This leads me to the conclusion that planning my week has zero-to-no effect on my desire to workout. Another theory is that I’ve made it a habit by the end of week 3, so my planning has become less necessary. But whatevs. Here’s the plan for this week (I’m doing it different now because...

… like tumblr is a place for teenagers to whine about being ugly and/or unloved. Stop it. Unless you’re dying, starving, or have some other debilitating situation, you’ll get over it. Plus, you’re really harshing my vibe.

Last Week Was Rough
One of the hardest weeks in working of my life. Ever. Ever, ever. I worked 10+ hours every day, without break. On Thursday (the last day of my week), I worked from 6:15 AM to ~7:00 PM. Just about 12 hours. I took 1 pee break that day. ONE. And despite all of this? Not one friggin’ work out was missed. Which leads me to my point: Anyone who wants to claim that they don’t have enough...

Running two nights in a row is not something to which I am used. Achy. Sore. Tired.  But excited and still high from all my working out. It’s been a long week (30 hours of work in 3 days) already, but I haven’t missed a damn workout. Commit to it.

TMI Tuesday: My First, My Worst
For today’s TMI Tuesday, which is the first time I’m doing this, here’s my blasty blast: One time I was running an easy run, at a very early hour (~4AM). It was 5 miler, 2.5 out and back, meaning the furthest I could get away from my house was 2.5 miles. When I got to 2.5 miles, I felt the rumbles and/or jumbles in my stomach region. With every step it got worse and worse. But...

On Vibram Five Fingers
If you follow, me you may have noticed that I recently received my second pair of Vibram Five Fingers (VFFs) the other day. In my closing-in-on five years of running, VFFs have been the brand of shoe that has treated me the best. Here’s a brief history of why I like them. As a Kid When I was about nine or ten years old, I was diagnosed as one of the 20-30% of the general population that...

Weigh-In 5
After a Thanksgiving dinner and the following weekend, I’m luckily still dropping weight. I’ve just about hit my first goal, which is awesome. Next, I have to make a decision when to stop losing and start packing on muscle. Oh, and I’m going to pack like I play football in Green Bay. Current Weight 180.5 Caloric Per Day 2181 Reach 180 By Dec 8 After the guy from the furniture...

Why I Skipped Last Night
My run was postponed from last night. Dad had what could have been heart-related issues, went to the hospital, so we didn’t get home until late. Ate some feelings at Chili’s last night. T’was delicious. Dad ended up being okay, but stayed overnight for observation. I’ll be running and lifting today.
